About this submission

I chose to tell this story after reassessing what I wanted to make as a filmmaker. Following several more melancholic projects and a move from Dublin to London, in a new city, I felt really disconnected from my work and I was drawn to humour as a way to connect with audiences. Writing and realising the film allowed me to let go of preconceived ideas about what was “worth” making, and in doing so, I feel I discovered my own unique voice. Ultimately, I felt compelled to make something entertaining.

Adam Kelleher is an Irish writer-director and visual artist, known for blending unique images with absurd humour and melancholic characters. Through collaborations with the likes of Zack Villere, MOIO, EFÉ, Bricknasty and Mei Semones he has carved a unique niche with his raw, evocative style, which resonates with audiences hungry for something different; be it through film, music videos, photography or visual art. His short film 'HOW ARE YOU ?' (2023) was screened as part of the Enzo Film Festival in New York. It won the award for 'Technological Achievement in Editing'. His previous film 'Clump & Thud, Thud, Thud.' (2024) was first screened to a sold-out independent screening and was met with great response. The film is a throwback to the mumblecore film movement of the early 00s.
