With each creative endeavor I begin, I start by asking myself, "How can I turn this film/genre/story upside down?" With Neverland, this took effect as I explored life for a 2-dimensional character in a 3-dimensional world, of course including an element of surprise. Inspired by my favorites, like Coraline, I am fascinated by cutesy and charming depictions of horror. In this experimental dark comedy, its unique quirkiness is both its and my charm.
