I grew up surrounded by women; I admired their routines and beauty. As a young girl, I was excited to become a woman. I thought the makeup made you pretty and gave you maturity. It wasn’t until I began including beauty as part of my daily routine that I realized the torturous and cyclical aspect of it. Once I started I realized it is almost impossible to stop, “fixing myself up” would be part of my every day. This film is meant to use its limited animation and repetition as a sign of the constraint of the beauty routine.
