A micro-series is a serialized story told through short-form episodes. Applicants should propose a series of approximately 60–80 episodes, with each episode designed to run approximately 60 seconds to three minutes.

No, there is no fee to apply.

This program is open to applicants from anywhere in the world, but the application and the materials therein must be completed in English. English proficiency is a requirement as the program will be conducted in English.

Applicants must be 18 years of age or older at time of submission.

Applications will be evaluated based on narrative voice and originality, suitability for short-form storytelling and platform fit, the strength and sustainability of the series concept, and the professionalism of the submission.

No, applicants should apply with original, unpublished and unproduced concepts and scripts.

All program meetings and activities will take place virtually via Zoom.

Yes, you must submit your script (the first 30 episodes) in standard industry screenplay format as a PDF. This should be no more than 45 pages. 

Your series bible should communicate your vision for the series, including its tone, target audience, aesthetic, and overall direction. It may be up to three pages.

You may submit a link from any accessible file-sharing service, such as Adobe, Google Drive, or Canva. Please submit a link and if the site is password-protected, be sure to include the password in the designated field.

Yes. See application for word-count and page limits. 

Yes, if you have a co-writer or co-creator, you may apply as a team, and you should only complete one application. We are not accepting teams of more than two.

We are only accepting one application per person/per team. Submitting more than one application will result in all of your applications being disqualified. Teams should only submit one application.

We reserve the right to follow up for additional information during the review period.

Yes, college/university students are eligible to apply.

Due to the volume of applications submitted, we cannot accept any requests for revisions, or provide any feedback on submitted materials. 

By entering this challenge, all applicants grant TikTok a "first-look" opportunity at their series idea. TikTok will have 21 calendar days from the date you are notified of your application status to determine whether it would like to explore a potential partnership with you to develop your series concept.

Yes, except for certain promotional and advertising purposes of submissions as described in the terms all applicants will retain ownership of their intellectual property. Any potential agreement with TikTok would be subject to separate terms negotiated with the applicant.

No. Selection as a finalist and participation in the pitch event do not guarantee a development, production or distribution agreement. Any potential opportunity with TikTok would be subject to a separate agreement.

The Sundance Collab team will be in contact to share additional details about how to participate in the pitch events and receive your finalist package.

Finalists must be available to participate in the online workshop on November 3, 2026, and the virtual pitch event on November 6, 2026.
