Mercury's Stars is made first and foremost for Black Queer creatives, particularly Black Queer women and Non-Binary artists who rarely see their inner lives reflected with care and complexity. The film also speaks to broader audiences interested in music, underground art scenes, and intimate, character-driven documentaries, inviting viewers into Atlanta’s creative community with honesty, warmth, and emotional depth. The first installment follows Makenna Lyric, a self-taught musician who leaves her small town of Missoula, Montana, for Atlanta, seeking creative growth and chosen family.
