About this Video
I chose to tell this story because I was falling in love for the first time in my life. I never had a good example of healthy love, so I turned to fairytales and movies. During this time I learned that contrary to what I was conditioned to believe, the fairy tale of “love” is not as authentic, true, fulfilling or as beautiful as the reality of love. This film is a love letter to love and showcasing that very human story through the eyes and lives of black characters was very important to me.
