"I don't know whether to pray it was special, or hope that it wasn't"
Love’s Island is an experimental visual poem about Black love, grief, and the beauty of what remains.
Blending live action, animation, and archival imagery, the film explores the memory of young love, the warmness of seeing someone you care for step into your world, and the bittersweet grace of letting them go.
Created to challenge myself as a filmmaker, this project became an exploration of intimacy, loss, and joy, told through painterly imagery and poetic dialogue.
