When Cambodia’s first gay dance company closed early in 2024, Reaksmey, one of the dancers, snapped back to the turbulence he once started. Returning as the pagoda boy and living with Buddhist monks in the city, he starts stitching and sewing dance costumes, hoping to keep the company’s memory and his identity together. As his country tries to heal from the legacy of war, Reaksmey asks an important question: can he ever be able to dance again?
