About this submission

I chose to tell Love & Loxion – The Reunion because it captures the heartbeat of modern South Africa — where tradition, technology, and love constantly collide. I wanted to explore how people in the township navigate authenticity in a world obsessed with performance, healing, and “soft life” ideals.

Through Ma Pencil and Nomhlekhabo, I’m telling a story about vulnerability — about how love can survive ego, how humor can hold pain, and how redemption often begins with embarrassment. The township setting isn’t just a backdrop; it’s a living character, full of rhythm, gossip, and grace.
