About this submission

I chose this story because it represents who I am and where I was at in my lifetime both as an artist and as a young adult. Knotted is a film that tackles and satirizes classism and the idea of the starving artist. I wrote it as a means of dealing with how lost and insecure I felt in my journey and felt it was the right one to tell when deciding my thesis.

Aaron McLaughlin is a 25-year-old Film Director, Screenwriter, and Editor based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He began his journey behind the camera as a run-and-gun Videographer in sports media, which quickly evolved into narrative storytelling. Most recently, he's written his first feature script, 'The Colosseum', a Track and Field Drama/Thriller, and directed, co-wrote, and edited another short film, 'Solitaire'. His thesis proof-of-concept Coming-of-Age Dramedy Short Film, Knotted, is currently on its festival run. more...
