This is the opening to my pilot, Imperial Beach, a comedy noir about a wannabe samurai (Griff, introduced here) and an alcoholic boxer forced to work together to track down a smuggler in the strange criminal underworld of southern California. It's a big world with big characters and I wanted the opening scene to get the audience situated.
