Imperfect Offerings tells the story of Sarah May, a queer artist who uses a form of participatory, community-based art to celebrate and advocate for Utah’s ecologically devastated Great Salt Lake. With the help of hand-made costumes, puppets, and song, May reflects on how her identity has been shaped by the lake and its impassioned community of supporters. Now a leader of the ‘lake-facing’ movement, she hopes to bring a new generation to the shores of Great Salt Lake and foster a future shaped by joy, reverence, and reciprocity.
