In the early months of 1970, student protestors, urban workers, and farm peasants in the Philippines organized to overthrow the dictator Marcos and his imperial puppeteers. While mass resistance was building, the reality of grief amongst the people often intertwined with their willingness to struggle for each other. Imagined as a letter to Enrique Sta. Brigada, a student that was killed at the hands of state brutality, this elegy pays homage to why we are moved to resist, even against impossible odds.
