I am a Welsh filmmaker who is interested in exploring the stories and experiences of women and the ways in which these stories are narrated through culture and history. I chose to tell the story of the Welsh miners' strike 1984-85 because it was the second biggest mobilisation of women since the suffragette movement. This piece of Welsh heritage is largely left out of our history as a nation, with How We Live I aimed to bring its legacy to light and connect our history to contemporary politics today.
