Inspired by concerns about juvenile crime in Japan, I began wondering why juveniles often receive lighter sentences; as I looked deeper, I discovered that many young offenders come from troubled home environments, and because they are not yet independent or fully aware of the world, problems caused by their parents can strongly shape their behavior and this realization ultimately drove me to make this film.
