Happy Thoughts was created after my uncle, and named after his tattoo. Unfortunately He took his life on 5/7/2023 after suffering a manic episode. He dealt with long-term depression, anti-depressants, and a party gone wrong. His life brought light to the lack of Mental health awareness in the Vietnamese culture, which, feels almost taboo to talk about in the community. This film is meant is to push a new wave in the community of reaching out, and openly talking about our emotions. Happy Thoughts is dedicated to the unfortunate reality of mental health in many Vietnamese families.
