Aster Munro (he/they) is a writer, filmmaker, and multi-disciplinary artist based in Los Angeles, California, specialising in genre and queer surrealist horror films. With a background in prosthetic make-up, Munro spent a lot of his career working with gags and gore. In 2018, he relocated from California to London where he got a BA in Screenwriting for Film and TV at Regent’s University. During his time there, he made two short films. The first, "Tentacle Head", was co-directed by Munro, who also handled the prosthetics, make-up, and editing. He later wrote and co-directed "Sewn with Scarlet Strings", which he also edited and composed the score. Both films achieved recognition, being showcased at various festivals around the world. Since graduating, Munro has worked on a range of projects in diverse roles, most recently working with Amazon MGM as a script supervisor trainee.
