Centered on a woman grappling with agoraphobia and the unresolved, turbulent relationship with her brother, my narrative short film, Golden Child, examines what happens when familial conflicts are left unaddressed until after death.
My writing serves as a process of confronting questions I can’t answer myself: How does mourning manifest for someone coping with mental health issues beyond grief? How do childhood dynamics inform adult interactions? At what point do character flaws become irredeemable?
Through Golden Child, I aim to evoke empathy for the flawed protagonist, inviting audiences to reflect on their own experiences with grief, resentment, and familial ties.
