Zoe is a young NYC dancer who, having drifted away from her dreams, turns to prostitution as a means of survival. Through this journey, she begins to reconnect with her inner child, her identity, and the aspirations she once abandoned. The protagonist’s strained relationship with her father reveals how childhood emotional absence can lead to self-sacrifice and a need for validation; but ultimately, she learns that belonging begins with caring for herself. This project is a combination of inspiration drawn from accounts told by psychological patients as well as of personal experiences growing up in a family with divorced parents.
