About this Event Recording

When screenwriter David Goyer (The Dark Knight Trilogy) tried to start a new project at a studio intending to use AI systems, The WGA asked a simple question no one could answer: was the work "AI-created" or "AI-assisted"? Not the WGA, not the studio's legal team, not the production itself had a shared definition to work from.

That gap is what the Creators Coalition on AI (CCAI) set out to close.

During our live event, join CCAI Executive Director Ted Tremper and co-founder, cinematographer and VFX supervisor Jim Geduldick for a conversation on the CCAI Standards & Definitions Project: the first cross-industry framework built by the entertainment industry itself to describe how AI is actually being used in film, TV and content creation.

Nine months in the making, drawing on more than 60 expert delegates, over 200 professional testimonials, and two all-day industry conventions, the project has just launched three free public resources:

  • The CCAI Glossary: a living glossary of almost 200 terms , drafted, debated and ratified by delegates from 11 profession blocs across film, television and content creation.
  • An Impact Visualizer & Report: an interactive tool covering more than 150 distinct jobs, evaluating each technology against each role using a newly ratified industry impact standard.
  • An Impact Surveyor: an open contribution platform for any entertainment professional to submit how AI is, or isn't, changing their work.

In this session, Ted and Jim will walk through:

  • The CCAI Glossary, how it was crafted and continues to improve
  • How the Impact Visualizer's scale works, from AI having "no identified effect" to tools capable of replacing core parts of a role
  • How the project evolves from here, including quarterly reports and an ongoing call for community contributions — CCAI is aiming for 250,000 contributors, up from the roughly 250 who helped build it

Whether you're a creator, craftsperson, executive, technologist, or just trying to make sense of AI's role in entertainment, this panel offers a first look at the language the industry is now using to talk about it.
