Join Sundance Collab and the Creators Coalition on AI (CCAI) for the second installment of our quarterly series spotlighting the coalition’s work at the intersection of creativity and artificial intelligence. This session dives into the release of CCAI’s Standards & Definitions project — three free resources built to serve as the first cross-industry framework for describing how AI is used in film, television, and content creation. Ted Tremper
Ted Tremper is a creative producer, director, and writer who believes comedy is our most valuable tool for uncovering truth, sharing knowledge, and exposing hypocrisy. His credits include Borat Subsequent Moviefilm, The Daily Show, and I Love You, America! with Sarah Silverman, among others. He is also the co-creator of SHRINK on Peacock.
Jim Geduldick
Jim Geduldick is an award-winning visual effects supervisor, cinematographer & creative technologist whose work sits at the convergence of storytelling, real-time graphics, virtual production, and emerging technologies. With more than 20 years of experience spanning feature films, episodic television, commercials, immersive media, and live production, he has helped shape innovative production pipelines that blend cinematic artistry with cutting-edge technology.
Throughout his career, Jim has collaborated with leading studios, technology companies, camera manufacturers, and software developers to advance workflows in virtual production, in-camera visual effects, real-time rendering, color science, AI-assisted content creation, and next-generation filmmaking. His expertise bridges creative vision and technical execution, enabling productions to embrace new technologies while maintaining the highest standards of cinematic quality.
As Governor of the Television Academy's Special Visual Effects Peer Group, Jim champions innovation, education, and collaboration across the entertainment industry. Jim is also Co-Founder of the Coalition for Creators in AI (CCAI), where he works with artists, filmmakers, technologists, and industry leaders to help establish responsible and practical frameworks for AI in creative production. He also serves on the Technology Committee of the Visual Effects Society and as Chair of the SMPTE Rapid Industry Solutions (RIS) initiative, contributing to the development of standards and industry solutions for emerging production technologies.
A recognized industry thought leader and international speaker, Jim regularly presents at conferences including NAB, Siggraph, Tribeca, AFI, Unreal Fest, FMX, IBC, and other global industry events. His presentations explore the evolving relationship between artificial intelligence, visual effects, cinematography, game engines, and immersive media, providing audiences with practical insights into the future of production.
