Tragedy only exists because there was once something good for us to lose. We can try to ignore how grief weighs on us, but it will make itself known anyways. I’m interested in how emotion creeps in through the cracks of even the most mundane and sterile of circumstances, as well as the hard choices needed to move on. In this, I wished to pay tribute to my heritage. My culture would be represented not in a topical manner, but how I experience it, underlying the way I see and interact with the world e.g. through language, traditions, and values.
