I chose to tell this story about a queer relationship because queerness often exists in the spaces between what is said and what is allowed to be felt. Anna and Hope's connection in the film is intimate, and emotionally exclusive, reflecting a love that feels deeply real yet is never fully named. It's a story about my own queerness and how suppressed queer desire can linger, haunt, and resurface in dangerous ways. By framing this longing through horror, I explore how the need to be seen and chosen can become dangerous when it has no safe place to exist.
