'Duet' is a portrait of my relationship with my sister. Our daily lives 214 miles apart are discussed through iPhone footage and laggy FaceTime calls. Presented on parallel screens, they form a sometimes-silly-sometimes-sweet exploration of routine, creativity, and connection in the digital age. I was inspired by Wim Wenders' study of routine in 'Perfect Days', Annie-B Parson's theory that choreographic elements exist in everyday interactions, and Jon Rafman’s 'You, The World and I', in which a narrator scours Google Earth for an image of an ex-lover. I wanted to reconnect us with our childhood, and document the process.
