“Do It for the Plot” is a mentality my generation suffers from. The impact of social media has led to a generational yearn of spontaneous and authentic stories to confirm our existence. An online identity and constant reminders of what other people are doing, makes entertaining verbal stories like liquid gold. This has led to many people living purely for the intention of having a good story to tell, and the consequence of this is dissociation with reality and a plague of constant romanticism.
