I never imaged I'd be telling a zombie story, but I knew that it was important because of how fundamentally different the two characters are. In our hateful time, I wanted to depict reconciliation, even with such diametrically opposed people. At the same time, I wanted to show that hate has real consequences, and that love isn't a free ticket out of struggle, but something you continually choose and fight for. Sometimes, it's too late. I think I like writing cautionary tales because they act as a warning to myself just as much as they do the audience. Thanks :)
