I felt it was relatable at the time. Friends and I talked about how dating feels like stepping on eggshells, or the funny moments we'd have. Overthinking the situations only worsens the experience. I wanted to see a character go through that and end up finding what he needs in front of him all along. He rehearses the line, for it to only come off wrong. But then meets someone who sees who he really is. Being seen is all any of us want, and to then be loved despite it.
