I have long been fascinated by the many forms the concept of death takes, particularly in art. When I first visited this place, I was struck not only by the artist’s 30-year-long dedication to building a cathedral from discarded materials, but by the quiet coexistence of death and life within it. Junk—objects once used, then abandoned—finds new presence amid surrounding nature. Inside the structure, insects nest, animals pass through, and growth continues. Wind plays the music inside the cathedral. This film seeks to explore the fragile, beautiful harmony between decay and vitality from multiple perspectives.
