I wanted to tell a story that brought the mythological aesthetics of vampires into a more contemporary setting, while grounding it in an emotionally resonate story of a break-up. While I've never had the misfortune of breaking up with a vampire, I do know what it's like to grow apart, and separate from someone you care about. This story takes those feelings and experiences but raises the stakes to life or death.
