This series was born from my co-creator and I's own experiences navigating ambition, education, and love as young Black women in New York City, while being among the few Black students at a predominantly white private institution. BOPSY centers on two protagonists whose bond becomes both a refuge and a mirror as they move through these spaces together. Through them, the series honors the intimacy, humor, and resilience that exist when Black women are allowed to be fully seen, flawed, and growing.
