I decided to tell this story because I love seeing the Dominican diaspora on film. All of the actors in this are Dominican and they each look as if they could be from different countries. There is a tenderness in having naturally curly hair, being shown as afro latina and having someone braid your hair with enough tension to hold it. These little moments. are encapsulated in my film, I believe in preservation and that's what I achieved with this 4 minute project.
