I used to spend three years in New York reporting on Asian American communities, developing a strong commitment to telling stories that amplify underrepresented voices. My experience and connection have fueled my passion for creating films that center resilience, identity, and cultural preservation.
I integrated deeply within San Francisco’s queer Asian scene as a way to build trust with the community and gain understanding of the work being done to celebrate intersectional identities. Spending hours with Kiki as she got ready for performances and prayed to ancestors allowed me to see the extent of her and understand her motivations deeply.
