The ambition behind this film is one of intimacy rather than scale. In wanting to take a step back from the high-concept attempts I made in film school, my hope with this piece was to try something as small and specific as possible that still spoke to the broader themes I’m interested in as an artist. How to tell a relatable story, or share relatable feelings in not-so-explicit terms? How to explore a family dynamic in a not-so-obvious way? Newton discovered gravity in an apple, why should we be able to discover anything less?
