About this Video

Last spring, my father, Mark, passed away from a long battle with lung disease. It was less than a year after I moved across the country to Ann Arbor, Michigan. The film, comprised of the last birthday card my dad ever wrote me, is an act of remembrance of this time, him, and how the sky burns for you in your darkest days. My interests are in memory, history, and the hyperpersonal; film is my favorite medium is because it's the only one that resurrects. I know filmmaking can't bring my dad back, but it will exude our love.
