I am undocumented. In media that depicts undocumented people, we are often told with a narrative that make us look like either victims or villains. Though it is true that we are victims of the system, these narratives ignore our own individuality. I want to tell my story, who am I as an undocumented immigrant, and to ask what makes someone undocumented: what element do you see truly that makes someone not American? I choose to tell this story in the most ethical way possible, choosing a style that doesn't glamorize a tragic circumstance, and leaving myself uncredited.
