A grieving man struggling to maintain control of his life begins committing violent acts to preserve the fragile reality he has built for himself. Each victim is drawn into the same hypnotic trance that shields him from confronting guilt and loss, allowing him to believe he is protecting what he loves rather than destroying it. As his dependence on this ritual deepens, the line between care and cruelty disappears, and his constructed world begins to fracture. Told from an intimate and subjective perspective, Almost Got Me explores how denial can become a form of survival.
