Pistol (Bastola)
About this submission
Union Corporal Lance Taylor “LT” is scaling Big Bear, to reclaim his wife, who was just kidnapped by the notorious outlaw, Black Wolf, an unsavory character of vehement reputation and reprehensible disposition, a killer of women and children. The Confederate Colonel Rex Beauregard, Belle Star, and a quiet man from the Pinkertons, also have a business interest in Mrs. Esther Taylor, as do other nefarious persons. When the final play of cards is out, no hand is innocent, and with a great deal of gold involved, perhaps “LT” isn't the perfect soldier after all.

"An Elegie for Esther" is the fabled prequel to "Deplorable Charades", one of the last sprawling western classics, on a doomed frontier, during a time when the outlaw was ending.
