As an African-American, I felt compelled to tell this familiar story in an original and abstract way. I wanted to explore the tangibility of the future at a young age as well as abstractly exploring the threads of their relationship. While not autobiographical, this film is deeply personal as a semi-impressionistic portrait of my connection with spirituality, identity, stylistic & thematic experimentation.
