As a transgender man rejected by his queer mother, I feel my story touches on important issues of feminism, generational trauma, and queer identity. Although the statistics of trans folks rejected by their parents are known, the experience of familial abandonment is rarely depicted. In sharing my story I want to give a face to those statistics while exploring the aforementioned themes.
