I’ve always been scared of death. Maybe because of my grandma. Maybe because it isn’t in my control, or maybe it’s because I don’t have a faith that makes it all look beautiful.
A Gentle Hand was my exploration of death as something less terrifying, something rather gentle. It was like meditating and finding my way through a fear. Like a small child painting a beautiful image in my mind, a safe space to rest.
I hope this film has done the same for others. Made a monster into a tale they will be ready to explore when it’s time.
