The 2020 Short Film Intensive: Detroit is a two-day digital workshop (July 23-24) for short film creators focused on taking their projects to the next level in terms of quality and festival distribution. You will receive advice on your project and career insights from working industry professionals and Mike Plante, senior programmer for short film at the Sundance Film Festival.

Welcome and introductions led by Mike Plante (Senior Programmer for Short Film, Sundance Film Festival). Each fellow will have an opportunity to introduce themselves and their project.

Mike Plante discusses how the Sundance Film Festival works and gives tips on using the festival world.

3:15 p.m. EST Advisor Panel Discussion + Q&A
Filmmakers Reinaldo Marcus Green (“Monsters and Men”) and Musa Syeed (“Valley of Saints,” “A Stray”) discuss the art of filmmaking in the short format and how they built their careers.
4:15 p.m. EST Advisor Presentation: From Short to Feature in Detroit
Rola Nashef (“Detroit Unleaded”) discusses taking her short to a feature and working in Detroit.
