As a film and television editor, Terilyn A. Shropshire collaborates with some of the industry’s most talented filmmakers and television creators. Her feature film credits include: BEYOND THE LIGHTS, THE SECRET LIFE OF BEES and LOVE AND BASKETBALL directed by Gina Prince-Bythewood. She edited Kasi Lemmon’s films, EVE'S BAYOU, THE CAVEMAN'S VALENTINE, TALK TO ME, BLACK NATIVITY, and the Lifetime Achievement Award tribute to Sidney Poitier for the 74th Annual Academy Awards, for which Ms. Shropshire earned an Emmy nomination. She has edited Salim Akil’s films SPARKLE and JUMPING THE BROOM. Recently, Ms. Shropshire completed MISS BALA, directed by Catherine Hardwicke. She earned an American Cinema Editors (A.C.E.) Eddie Award for REDEMPTION: THE STAN TOOKIE WILLIAMS STORY, directed by Vondie Curtis Hall and edited his follow-up film, WAIST DEEP. Her other credits include: WRINKLE IN TIME (add’l editor) directed by Ava DuVernay, AMONG RAVENS directed by Russell Friedenberg and Randy Redroad, AMERICAN VIOLET directed by Tim Disney, TYLER PERRY'S DIARY OF A MAD BLACK WOMAN directed by Darren Grant, and BIKER BOYS and ONE NIGHT IN VEGAS both directed by Reggie Rock Bythewood. She was one the editors on the premiere seasons of the FOX event drama series, SHOT'S FIRED, ABC series QUANTICO and edited Marvel’s pilot CLOAK AND DAGGER. Ms. Shropshire holds Bachelor of Arts degrees in Broadcast Journalism and Cinema from the University of Southern California. She is a member of Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, Academy of Television Arts and Sciences and American Cinema Editors.
