Jack Wingate is a queer filmmaker from Tallahassee, Florida now based in Brooklyn. In December 2020, he graduated from FSU with his B.S. in Digital Media Production and Creative Writing. Jack's thesis film The Garden Project began his interest in social impact filmmaking as he documented a neighborhood fighting over-development in the city of Tallahassee. The film was then used to raise money for a new Aquaponics garden and child center. Most recently he was awarded the Parlamentarisches Patenschafts-Programm Stipendium which brought him to Berlin to live and work on a documentary about Ukrainian Artists. His work has been screened internationally including at the 2023 New York Winter Film Awards and the 2023 Berlin Between Bridges Exhibition. Now, Jack is in Pre-Production on a short LGBT+ documentary about Fire Island.
