David is a graduate of Manhattanville College with a major in Music and Minor in English. He is a 2012 Assistant Directing graduate of the Connecticut Film Industry Training Program at Quinnipiac University. Their short film, "Local Commercial", featuring John Ratzenberger, won Best Comedic Short at the Manhattan Film Festival and Best Director at the Boston Film Festival in 2013. David started his career as a professional musician/drummer, studying under and collaborating with Dave Weckl and legendary producer/talent scout, John Hammond. He performed with John Shirley (The Crow, Blue Oyster Cult) on the album Obsession. His career spans decades in Marketing and advertising for Gannett, Yahoo, Omnicom, Time Inc and Chicken Soup for the Soul. In 2014, David launched Sightline Media Entertainment LLC to create quality content across multiple media platforms, with an emphasis on high-quality children’s picture books. His goal is to create inspirational, character driven stories that both entertain and touch audiences worldwide through universal themes. David is the author of the 2010 novel "Lost in Plain Sight" (written under the pseudonym David Gerard) and children's books: "The Furnace Room, (2015), "The Treehouse Adventure" (2016), "Lila’s Dream" (2017) and 2019 Moonbeam Gold Medal winner, "Everybody Needs A Beast" (2018). His newest title: "The Promise" will be released in August 2020. Currently, David collaborates with Director, Producer, Author and Speaker, Heather Hale on various projects including the drama, "Once Again".
