Michael is an award winning Writer/Director with a background as a Registered Nurse. He has worked in several Intensive Care Units in Los Angeles and across the United States specializing in open-heart surgery, pulmonary, vascular, neuro-trauma and burns. Michael’s original feature scripts have been recognized by The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences Nicholl Fellowship screenplay competition, which include AXIS (earning top fifteen percentile), BUTTERFLY CAUGHT (top ten percentile) and TRANCE (quarterfinalist). Michael recently co-wrote DON QUIXOTE, THE INGENIOUS GENTLEMAN OF LA MANCHA for James Franco’s Rabbit Bandini production company, garnered praise for his suspense/horror short I’M SO HAPPY I FOUND YOU at several National film festivals, won a Silver Telly Award for his Domestic Violence PSA and Best Director for a web series at the Glendale International Film Festival for his work on A BRIEF HISTORY OF DICK MOVES. Michael is a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) graduate of the University of Southern California School of Cinematic Arts and a recipient of the John Huston Directing Scholarship for excellence in directing. Michael worked at Storefront Pictures for respected Hollywood Producer, Susan Cartsonis as well as USC’s School of Cinematic Arts in conjunction with New Form Digital as a Supervising Producer on student web-based projects financed by USC in association with Ron Howard and Brian Grazer. Currently, Michael has completed his first feature film, CICADA SONG, as Writer-Director and is looking forward to being on the festival carpets in 2019.
