I am a documentary filmmaker whose mission is to produce films that promote social change. My films include KICK LIKE A GIRL, WHERE’S HERBIE? SUGAR BABIES, LEAD WITH LOVE & DYING IN VEIN, THE OPIATE GENERATION and the 2018 Sundance Film QUIET HEROES. My films have aired on top broadcast and VOD channels such as HBO, HULU, PBS, and Amazon, and have received praise in the New York Times, the Washington Post, and the Boston Globe. I have received grant support from Chicken & Egg Films, The Sorenson Legacy Foundation, Fledgling Fund, Artemis Rising, The Larry H. Miller Foundation & The Eccles Foundation. I have worked in collaboration with the Utah Film Center for over 12 years, under the leadership of her friend, mentor and producer Geralyn White Dreyfous. I received a B.A. from Brown University and a Ph.D. from the University of Utah. I have been an adjunct faculty member at the University of Utah and I work regularly with SPYHOP and The Utah Film Center to help mentor middle and high school students in filmmaking. I am a board member of The David Ross Fetzer Foundation and the Utah Film Commission Advisory Committee. There are SO many great films to be made, and SO many talented and creative people out there to connect with. I am thrilled to be a part of co//ab, and love this idea of an online creative community helping others to grow professionally. I am always looking for creative feedback and notes to make my films stronger, more impactful, tighter stories. I hope to be able to participate in lots of the online classes, and also get some helpful notes on WIP's and rough cuts.
