Javier Lourenço Bio Born in Buenos Aires in 1974, Javier Lourenço is an award winning animation and mixed media director. Since 2009 he is part of the directors duo Flamboyant Paradise who recently partnered with Gizmo Animation & mixed media creative lab. After graduated with a degree in Advertising from the Universidad Del Salvador (Buenos Aires), he started his career as an art director in high-profile agencies such as Lautrec/Nazca Saatchi & Saatchi, CraveroLanis, Euro RSCG y DDB. Between 2003 and 2005 he served as Creative Director in the multiawarded-winning agency Del Campo/Nazca Saatchi & Saatchi and in El Cielo, the agency founded by the argentinean creative revolutionaries Agulla & Baccetti. In 2006 he became a director working for the innovative creative studio Amautalab based in Los Angeles and Buenos Aires. In 2009 joined forces with former animator & digital artist Antoine Quairiat and created the directors duo Flamboyant Paradise, heading an experienced creative film-making team, focusing on outstanding art direction and provocative comedy storytelling and developing an eclectic compound of animation and mixed media techniques. As an advertising creative and a director he won over 150 international awards such as Cannes Lions, Clio, One Show, New York Festivals, London IAA, Fiap, Montreaux, Cíclope Festival, USH Idea Awards, Young Guns, El Ojo de Iberoamérica, Argentinean Creative Circle and Lápiz de Platino amongst others. In 2016 he won the Grand Prix in Craft in the Argentine Creatives Circle and Gold Metal in Ciclope Awards with his stop motion commercial “Chocolate Nigh Fever” for Molinos / Gallo Snacks. In 2018 he won the Webby Awards #The YouTube Ad that Deserves Best Picture with Gatorade’s Heart of a Lio short film. He worked for significant brands such as Coca-Cola, Unilever (Axe, Cif, Impulse), Ikea, California Milk Processor Board (Got Milk?), Energizer, MTV, Gatorade, Fox, Toyota, Havaianas, Nat Geo, Toyota, Mondelez, Ford, NHK Japan, SOS Mata Atlantica, Cervecería Quilmes, Fratelli Branca, Personal Telecom, Arcor, Fundación Temaikén and more. As a filmmaker, his short film “The Blindness of the Woods”, was an official selection for Sundance 2010 amongst other festivals and was awarded in Milano Film Festival and in Clermont-Ferrand Film Festival. Besides of that, his works has been exhibitied in cinema festivals such as Flux (Los Angeles), Pictoplasma (Berlin), Art Futura (Buenos Aires), Indie Lisboa, BASFF Korea y Arcalt (France). He has also directed music videos for the legendary label Mad Decent (USA), Waxploitation Artists (USA) y ZZK Records (Argentina). His music video “Kilo” (for Bonde do Role + Diplo) has been selected in the top 10 best videos by MTV Brazil and the music video for “Picolé” also by Bonde do Role attained the first prize in the Festival Art , also being a part of the Swiss Festival Seismographic Sounds in 2015.
