Dixie currently works as an Account Manager for video production company VMG Cinematic, based in Toronto. Previously, Dixie was involved in many projects in development and production at the Los Angeles Media Fund, headed by Jeffrey Soros and Simon Horsman. Some of these include the adaptation of Ursula K. LeGuin's Planet of Exile, Nick Hornby's Juliet, Naked, which premiered at Sundance this January, and Step Sisters, which was released on Netflix this year. Most recently, she had the great pleasure of working as a writer's assistant for Tim Long (The Simpsons) on his upcoming feature film The Exchange. While working full-time at LAMF, Dixie also completed a Screenwriting Certificate at UCLA Extension, where she was awarded the Laurel Hummel Scholarship. She was also an improv student at the Upright Citizens Brigade and a member of the Women in Film – LA mentorship program. Her half-hour pilot Hey, June was a quarter-finalist in the WeScreenplay TV competition, and her pilot Vanlife was a finalist at the 2018 ATX Pitch Competition, as well as a Sundance Episodic Lab semi-finalist. Additionally, Dixie worked at the Toronto International Film Festival where she helped launch the TIFF Studio initiative, a successful professional development program for filmmakers.
