Abel Rubinstein is an emerging writer and director. Abel's debut film 'Fuck The Boxes' had a successful film festival circuit in 2019. The film achieved official selections at LIFF, LSFF, Athens International Film + Video, Oslo Fusion, Norwegian Short Film Festival, Xposed Film Festival and BFI Future Film to name but a few. The film is the New Shoots Spring Winner of 2019. It has also screened at the BFI Flare x Future Film crossover event. Abel's second short film 'Dungarees' is supported by the Roundhouse. The completed short film will start its festival circuit in March but has already achieved official selections at BAFTA Qualifying film festivals in the UK. Abel's third short film 'Wink' is supported by the BBC and ICA. It is a part of the BBC's New Creatives scheme, 'Wink' will screen on BBC 4 and iPlayer in 2020. Abel is one of twenty to be selected for the scheme 'ShortFlix' supported by Sky Arts and Creative England. Abel was also chosen for Future Film x Bafta Mentorship, where he was linked up with a Bafta Nominated Director Harry Lighton. On 'Dungarees' he was supported by BFI Network and mentored by Caragh Davison the BFI Network Co-ordinator. VICE UK named Abel a "Filmmaker To Watch".
