With this movie I was thinking about grief and how it manifests itself differently for everyone and differently at different stages after a tragedy. Living with grief means living with daily triggers and reminders that there is a real absence in your life that was filled before. I chose to set this film after all the dramatic stuff that we usually see in films about grief. I wanted to talk about the mundane day-in-day-out of really existing in grief. This movie is about the things nobody tells you when you lose someone. And how hard it is to experience that.
